Trying to be …

I haven’t done anything since Elvis Week ended, except go to the grocery store, watch tv and read. I’ve been trying to do many things.

My latest is trying to have a balanced diet. I’m reading Bethenny Frankel’s book Naturally Thin, which is teaching me how to be naturally thin without dieting, but with balancing my foods. For instance, if I have vegan pizza for lunch, then I should have a salad with it and eat the salad first so I don’t each so much pizza. And never eat the same meal twice. And never eat in front of the tv – not sure if I can actually do that one.

This is a little difficult because for the past 2 months, I’ve been trying to be Vegan. It’s easy at home because I only have vegan foods. But it’s really hard when I go out because I don’t know what the breads are made of and everything comes with cheese. It  is easy being a vegetarian because I don’t care about meat, but being vegan in a restaurant is very hard – unless i get salad because even the vegetables are cooked in butter. Luckily I don’t eat out that much, but when I do I am going to try to start eating at vegan restaurants. There are a few in Memphis.

I have been trying to get back into writing. I haven’t written in my journal since I started this blog in February. And I haven’t written on this blog in 4 days, and I haven’t written an article for the examiner in 2 weeks. So today I did both. But I also want to get back to writing my memoirs, which I am doing today. Who knows, maybe they will be published one day and be a best-selling novel made into a motion picture. Yes, I think I’m Liz from Eat Pray Love, which I’ve been reading.

And lastly I’ve been trying to get a job. I’m waiting to hear back from the Grizzlies, supposed to hear something the beginning of next week – originally it was the end of this week. I also have a lead on 2 other jobs, but the Grizzlies job would be the best for me I think. Very flexible and I would enjoy it.

I also need to get back into seeing something new each day. I haven’t been trying to do that, but I need to. Now that summer travel is over and Elvis week is over, I can get back to it. There are a lot of local music festivals coming up and a lot of music at bars I haven’t been to yet, plus the vegan restaurants I need to go to. This is going to be a good Fall – I can feel it!
