Saturday night at Harrah’s Casino in Tunica, Mississippi Billy Idol rocked the sold out crowd for 2 hours playing all his 80s hits!

I arrived at Harrah’s just before 6pm, even though the show didn’t start until 9pm, because I of course wanted to play the slots. My night started out good – winning some bonuses at Reel Money and King Cash. But I ended up losing it all – Fireball Frenzy and Rich Little Piggy were no help to me this time. I spotted HOT SHOT, but it wasn’t working yet. Apparently they have remodled a part of the casino and a lot of the slots weren’t operational yet, but I will be back for HOT SHOT!

I decided to stop around 7:45, and I was out of money, and wait by the doors with everyone else to see Billy Idol! This guy walks up to me and says he likes my U2 shirt. That’s uncommon in these parts, but he’s not from Memphis or Mississippi – he’s from Maryland like me. And more crazy, he’s from Columbia which is right next to Ellicott City where I’m from. But we both live in Memphis now and both love going to concerts. So I made a new friend in Tim.

I got into my seat around 8:30, which was not on the floor like I thought but 5 rows up on the side. It was still close. The Events Center at Harrah’s is a much larger venue than Bluesville at Horseshoe. But I moved to the floor about 6 rows back for the encore after this drunk girl behind me fell on me making me fall on the guy in front of me. Apparently I almost fell completely over headfirst because they were steep rows, but luckily the people around me grabbed me. I was a little shaken, and I’m a little sore.

Billy Idol put on a great show! They crowd was really into it. I could have done without all the guitar solos though. But apparently Steve Stevens is some famous guitar player. The drummer was great, and I did enjoy his drum solo. Billy can really sing. Sounded just as great as he did in the 80s – and looked as great too!

My pictures aren’t very good because I took them with my iphone, but my video is great! I recorded all my favorites that he played – Dancing with Myself, Flesh for Fantasy, Eyes Without a Face, Mississippi Woman (instead of LA Woman because we were in Mississippi), Rebel Yell and White Wedding. I have uploaded videos of each of these songs separately and also made a montage/overview video of the entire concert.
