Comeback ’68 the Story of the Elvis Special by Steve Binder

This year marks the 50th Anniversary of the Elvis Special that aired in December of 1968 on NBC. This was the turning point of Elvis’ career. He had just spent the last eight years making movies and not performing live in concert. Along with productions numbers, Elvis took to the stage for the first time in almost a decade and sang before a live audience. Elvis was such a hit he started performing again immediately – first in Las Vegas, then throughout the United States. This book Comeback ’68 the Story of the Elvis Special by Steve Binder gives every detail about this watershed event in Elvis’ career, written by the man who created, directed and produced the special. I was lucky enough to meet and speak with Steve during Elvis Week and thanked him for making the special the way he wanted to make it (instead of what The Colonel wanted). Steve autographed his book for me.
