I Loved Her in the Movies by Robert Wagner
This is the third book I have read by Robert Wagner, one was his memoir and one was similar to this one about the Golden Age of Hollywood. I have had Wagner’s third book I Loved Her in the Movies: Memories of Hollywood’s Legendary Actresses for a while now but just realized Robert Wagner wrote it. I originally bought it because Lana Turner (my favorite actress) is on the cover.
It is a good book, entertaining to read. Robert Wagner depicts how Hollywood treated women from the 1940s to the 1980s through his relationships with various actresses and believe me he was with A LOT of Hollywood’s hottest actress. In addition to being married to Natalie Wood (twice) and Jill St. James, Robert Wagner had a relationship with Barbara Stanwick and some sort of dalliance with Joan Crawford, Bette Davis, Marilyn Monroe, Gloria Swanson, Norma Shearer, Loretta Young, Joan Blondell, Irene Dunne, Rosalind Russell, Dorothy Lamour, Debra Paget, Jean Peters, Linda Darnell, Betty Hutton, Raquel Welch, Glenn Close.
