A to Z Blogging Challenge April 2018 Theme Reveal … ELVIS

It’s almost April 1st, and you know what that means? No, not April Fool’s Day. No, not Easter. Well, yes and yes. But for my purposes, it is the beginning of the A to Z Blogging Challenge! And today is Theme Reveal Day! My theme this year is (drum roll please) ELVIS!

2018-calendar-a-to-z

How the A to Z Blogging Challenge works is I will blog every day in April (except Sundays after April 1st) on a topic about Elvis, my favorites from A to Z. April 1st will be an A topic about Elvis, April 2nd a B topic, and so on and so forth. I will cover everything about Elvis from his music to his movies to his family to books about him etc etc.

I have loved Elvis Presley since as long as I can remember. At least since I was 4 years old (I am now 45) because I remember seeing on tv that Elvis had died, running to tell my mom and being very upset about it. As a child, I was introduced to Elvis through his movies as my mom and I watched them on Sunday afternoons. (remember when we had just three tv stations and no dvr or vcr or dvd player or streaming device?) It is difficult to explain why I love Elvis so much. Fans have said if you’re not an Elvis fan you won’t ever understand, and if you are an Elvis fan then there is no explanation necessary. Elvis is a passionate, beautiful, talented, cool, rebellious, good-hearted southern boy. For those reasons and so many more, I love Elvis and cannot wait to share my love for him with you this April. And what better time to discuss Elvis than the same month as the new two part three hour Elvis documentary Elvis Presley: The Searcher premieres on HBO.

  2. That’s quite a declaration of love. Passion is always such a good thing to share.
When I was a kid, I liked Elvis to, same as you. I met him thorugh his film, which I watched with my granny. Today, I know he is a great artist.
Can’t wait to read more about him.
