I cannot accurately describe how excited I am that my beloved Denver Broncos are going to the Super Bowl! I do not think it has really sunk in yet. As a Broncos fan for almost 30 years, it has been quite a roller coaster ride. I lived through those three terrible Super Bowl losses (in four years) in the 1980s to the Giants, Redskins and 49ers. Then was elated when we won back to back Super Bowls in the 1990s. And was completely heartbroken last year when we lost our first playoff game in double overtime to the Ravens – and I live in Maryland (I’m still not over that one). And now finally my Broncos are going to the Super Bowl, where we should have been last year.

The Denver Broncos have had a fantastic season breaking just about every NFL offensive record. It was a rocky start though with Elvis Dumervil’s fax debacle and Von Miller’s suspension. But after all that, the Broncos again ended the regular season 13-3, AFC West Champs, #1 seed in the playoffs with a first-round bye. Now the Broncos are the 2013 AFC Champions and going to the Super Bowl to take on the NFC Champions Seattle Seahawks, who used to be in the AFC West back in the day along with Denver. Many predicted before the season started these two teams would be in the Super Bowl.

Now I just have to get to the Super Bowl! I have a hotel booked and a parking pass purchased. Just searching for a ticket if anyone can help a girl out…
